Nickerson, Shirley Samples, 76, of Plantation, FL, passed away on November 12, 2011. Shirley was a loving wife of 57 years to her husband, devoted mother, caring sister, grandmother, and friend. She was born in Cullman, AL and came to Miami in 1950. She worked for Sears for many years. She was a happy, sweet, caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband James Nickerson; son, Clay Nickerson, daughter, Terri Nickerson Rivera; two sisters, three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her life will be remebered with her husband on August 2, 2026  at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. She will be buried with him at South Florida National Cemetery on Monday.  "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil: for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort me." (Psalms 23:4). Cremation.
