James Andrew Nickerson, 91, of Plantation Florida passed away June 20, 2026. James was born in Miami, Florida to James Andrew Nickerson Sr and Mary McCall. James lived in the Miami area all his life and enjoyed fishing, camping and University of Miami Football. He retired from Miami Dade Transit. He was a devoted husband for 57 years to his wife Shirley Samples NIckerson. He served in the Army during the Korean War. James was a kind and giving person and had many friends through the years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather. James is survived by his children Clay Nickerson (Gleisy) Terri Nickerson Rivera (Ray) Grandchildren Monica McKissick (Jeremy) Ramon Rivera (Jordan) and Rebeca Naveda. Great grandchildren, Violet, Lily, Ethan and Carter. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life”. Memorial service will be August 2, 2026 at 1 PM at T.M Ralph Funeral Home. 7001 NW 4th St Plantation Florida 33317. Burial will follow on Monday at the South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington Florida at 10 AM
