Henry Walter Kowalski

Henry Walter Kowalski, 87, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on April 11, 2020. Henry was born on April 7, 1933 in Berlin, Germany. Henry survived World War II in Berlin and then he emigrated to Chicago, IL with his mother and his two sisters. Henry then joined the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Corporal. After he was honorably discharged, he met and married his sweetheart, Winifred Mae Jurek, on September 15, 1956. They moved to South Florida in 1959 where Henry had a successful 40-year career as a pastry chef at many of the top hotels and resorts in the South Florida area. Henry loved spending time with his family. He loved playing poker, pinochle and assorted games. He also loved going to the Lantana Oktoberfest celebrations. Henry was passionate about making sure everyone around him felt loved and appreciated. Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Winifred Kowalski; children, Keith (Julie) Kowalski, Ken (Candy Allen) Kowalski, Kraig Kowalski, Karen (Leigh Carr) Kowalski and Kari (Jerry St Peter) Kowalski and daughter-in-law Nancy Kowalski. Henry Kowalski is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Nick (Haley), Cody, Savannah, Amy, Steve (Michon), Kraig Jr, Kyle, Melissa, Brandon (Julia), Madison and Spencer. Additionally, seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Coleson, Gray, Wyatt, Miller, Skylar and Carter. Henry is preceded in death by his son Kevin Kowalski, grandson Ryan Kowalski, father Walter Franz Kowalski, mother Helen Driftman and sisters Elfie and Barbra. Henry was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be forever loved and missed.
