William Patrick Cahill life’s journey began in the Bronx, NY on July 5, 1949. He departed this world on December 8, 2025 in Florida. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Jean, his daughters Bonnie Cahill Martel, Erin Cahill, grandsons Nathan & Noah Martel and son-in-law Chris Martel. He is survived by his sisters Betty Cahill and Maureen Cahill. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn and brother Kevin and parents Elizabeth Rein Cahill and William F.Cahill.
A spirited teen, Billy’s true calling emerged in 1964 with the coming of his beloved Beatles. Blessed with a beautiful voice & musical talent he sang in his church choir during his grade-school years. Then he held his first guitar. Greatly influenced by the Beatles he immediately taught himself guitar & began a “garage” band being the lead singer and lead guitarist. Singing, composing & creating music became & remained his passion til the end; he was brilliant at it. It brought him joy. He was so happy to see his talent was passed on to his daughter Bonnie. He taught her guitar & was proud of her beautiful singing voice. Both his children & grandchildren were blessed with his artistic talent each in their own special ways.
Bill’s 2nd passion was the Dodger’s. A devoted “Dodger blue” fan since he was 5 years old, he stuck by them in good seasons & not so good. He was thrilled to see them win this seasons triumphant World Series. God is good.
Destiny led Bill’s career path to Wall Street. He began in 1966 as a clerk in a Brokerage firm and excelled through the ranks with only a Cardinal Hayes high school Academic diploma in hand. After prestigious positions in Citicorp, JP Morgan Securities & other's he retired after 45 years in the Securities Industry as President & Chief Operating Officer from TradeStation Securities (who we thank for bringing us from NY to Florida in 2004)
Bill was well-liked and respected for his brilliance, humor, kindness and talent. Wall Street in Manhattan’s Financial District always remained a part of him. It was there he was mentored & nurtured to become revered in the industry for his extensive knowledge, expertise and guidance.
Always a good provider, he loved & cared for his family and friends in his best way possible. Well done Mr. Cahill, husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend. You live on in our hearts as we fondly remember the good times & loving memories shared with you over all these years. May God bless you with His everlasting peace.
