In Loving Memory of William (Bill) Lee Baker

Born: September 17, 1931, in Muncie, Indiana. Bill graduated from Muncie Central High and went on to attend Ball State Teacher's College, where he met his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Sue Stephan.

They were married on June 1,1956, and moved to Miramar, Florida in 1959. In 1972, they made their home in Plantation, Florida. They were long time residents of Plantation Acres where Bill continued to live until he was 94 years old, following the passing of his beloved Mary Sue in November of 2020.

Both dedicated their lives to education, serving as educators with Broward County Schools for many years.

Bill was a Corporal in the Army Corps of Engineers and a veteran of the Korean War. He was active in many clubs such as the Elks, Moose and Optimist.

Bill passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026 surrounded by his 3 children. He is survived by Rene Baker-Troscher (Frank), William R. Baker, and Michelle Baker-Miller (Scott), as well as 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and on 1 great grandchild on the way.

Bill was incredibly social, an avid golfer and a passionate sports enthusiast. His quick wit, unique sense of humor and sarcasm will be deeply missed.

Together, he and Mary Sue were loving and kind parents whose memory will be cherished forever.
