Listen to Obituary

Theresa Ida Facchini-Carsello, born November 23, 1930 to Italian immigrants in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 28, 2025 at age 95 in Plantation, Florida. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend, known for her wisdom, humor, and nurturing, caring nature, leaves behind a rich legacy of family, home, food, love, comfort, and guidance. Married to Richard Dominic Carsello on August 28, 1954, she gave birth to their first of nine children on the island territory of Guam, a US Navy outpost during the Korean War, on May 20, 1955, and, twelve years later, their youngest child, in Chicago, on March 11, 1967. The wife of an electrical engineer, and, later, communications industry executive, she raised and fed nine children on a single family income, re-locating from Chicago to Plantation, Florida in August of 1970, as part of Motorola’s expansion into the South Florida area. Their house on Plantation Road has been a staple of the suburb for over 55 years, where countless meals have been enjoyed, and countless memories have been formed, by family, and by friends of the family who grew up visiting “The Carsello House”. Theresa was an expert cook, who knew how to stretch a dollar, and was known for her sharp wit, quiet insight, and mastery of the English language, being a wizard at Scrabble, Wheel of Fortune, and all word games. She is preceded in death by her parents Gerardo and Maria Facchini, her husband Richard Dominic Carsello, brothers Rocco, Jerry, and Frank Facchini, son Richard Joseph Carsello, and grandson Thomas Harlow, and is survived by her children Kathy (Dan) Harlow, Mary (Neal) Goldman, Gerry (Pat) Carsello, Rosanne Regan, Jim (Vivian) Carsello, John Carsello, Danny (Belkis) Carsello, and Stephen Carsello, her daughter-in-law Ena Carsello, her grandchildren Kara (Ron) Moore, Matthew Goldman, Tommy (Janie) Carsello, Bryan (Carlie) Goldman, Kelly (Colin) Meehan, Michael (Morgan) Harlow, Alex Carsello, Robert Carsello, Kristen Carsello, Elizabeth Carsello, Natalie & Nicholas Carsello, Benjamin Carsello, and Jake Carsello, and her great-grandson Nash Goldman. Services will be held at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, in Plantation, on Sunday, December 7 from 1:30 to 4 pm, with burial services at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, in North Lauderdale, on Monday, December 8 at 11 am. In her honor and because of her great love for her grandson Thomas, we ask that you remember her with memorial donations to the Phelan McDermid Syndrome Foundation.
