Susan Lynn Tolson

Susan Lynn Tolson, affectionately known as Susie, was born on February 11, 1961, in Hollywood, Florida. She peacefully passed away on August 20, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, after a long battle with colon cancer. Surrounded by her loving children, Amy Lewis and Matthew Tolson, as well as her devoted parents, Pat and Gerrie Griffin, Susie's final moments were filled with the warmth and love of family.

A dedicated and hard-working individual, Susie devoted an impressive 42 years to her career at Publix, where she contributed her talents across various departments. Her colleagues remember her for her kindness and her unwavering commitment to serving others, reflecting her generous spirit.

Susie lived a life full of joy and laughter, finding immense happiness in the simplest pleasures. She cherished spending time at Disney, viewing it as a magical escape, and enjoyed bonding with her family during these visits. A true Miami Dolphins fan, she brought a vibrant energy to every game, celebrating both victories and defeats with enthusiasm. Those who traveled with her will fondly remember her playful habit of playing the drums on her steering wheel, a testament to her spirited personality.

Susie’s character shone brightly through her kindness and generosity, often giving selflessly to those in need. Friends and family will always remember her as one of the kindest and most generous souls, someone who would willingly share her last dollar if it meant helping another.

In addition to her beloved children, Susie leaves behind her siblings, Dawn Griffin, Jennifer Vandergriff, and Chris Griffin, as well as her cherished parents, Pat and Gerrie Griffin. She is preceded in death by her brother, Paddy Griffin, who she held dearly in her heart.

Susan Lynn Tolson's legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed, but her warm spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
