With heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley on April 28th, 2024 at her home in Fort Lauderdale at the age of 90. She was born April 3, 1934 in Kingston Upon Thames, UK and moved to the United States as a young wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband David of 52 years in 2007.
Shirley carried on the fondness of her home country throughout her life. She loved to watch British mysteries and never missed a royal wedding on the “telly.” Even in her final moments she wanted a cup of tea for comfort.
Shirley loved animals and often had a pet in her lap for a cuddle. She also enjoyed knitting and used to say if she charged by the mistake we couldn’t afford her work. She was always good for a quick one liner with her sharp wit.
Shirley is survived by her children David, Marilyn, and Michael; grandchildren Lisa, Gareth, and Michael; great grandchildren Claire, Tomas, Tobias, and Beckett; and brother Steven.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Broward County in her memory.
