Rosemary Catherine Corkum, née Shea, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Plantation, Florida. She was born on January 4, 1935, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and lived a life marked by faith, love, and quiet devotion to the people and pursuits that meant the most to her.
Rosemary was a teacher, a role that reflected her caring spirit and her love of learning. She cherished art, reading, and books, and these interests remained an important part of her life. She was deeply devoted to Mother Mary, and her faith was a steady and meaningful presence throughout her years. Above all, Rosemary loved her family, and that love was at the center of her life.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Corkum. She also leaves her children, Carolyn Walker, Mark Corkum, and Kathleen McConnell, as well as four grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love. The family she treasured so deeply was one of her greatest joys, and her presence in their lives will be remembered with lasting affection.
A Mass will be held on September 15, 2026, at Saint Gregory Catholic Church, 200 N University Dr, Plantation, FL 33324. Burial will follow that day at 1:30 p.m. at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S State Rd 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449, where prayers and a Catholic committal service will be held at the gravesite.
Rosemary will be remembered for her gentle faith, her love of beauty and learning, and the deep care she gave to her family. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
