Listen to Obituary

Roselle “Rose” Wilson, a cherished educator whose unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of countless children, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 14, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Roselle’s journey was one of profound impact and heartfelt service.

From humble beginnings in Brooklyn to a life dedicated to learning and growth, Roselle’s path was illuminated by a passion for education. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where her spirit was already set toward nurturing future generations. This calling led her to Florida Atlantic University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, laying the foundation for a remarkable career.

For over 26 years, Roselle committed herself to Broward County Schools, not just as a teacher but as a primary specialist. In these roles, she became much more than an instructor—she was a beacon of inspiration, a mentor, and a guiding light. Through her tireless work, she touched the lives of hundreds of children, igniting curiosity and fostering the growth of each young mind she encountered. Her classroom was a sanctuary of learning, imagination, and kindness.

Yet beyond her professional achievements lay the heart of a devoted mother and family woman. Roselle’s life was rich with love and connection. She is survived by her three beloved children—Michelle Buzek, Anthony Wilson, and Jeremy Wilson—who carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. Her grandchildren, Gabriel and Victoria Buzek, are a source of immense pride and joy, embodying the bright future Rose always envisioned.

Family ties were the cornerstone of Roselle’s existence. She held close the bonds with her four brothers—Joe, Michael, Gerard, and John—and her five sisters- Luanne, Michelle, Lisa, Maria, and Darlene—each relationship a thread in the vibrant fabric of her life. Though her parents, Anthony and Dorothy Celano, and her sister Maria Celano preceded her in death, their memories remained a source of quiet strength and comfort.

Roselle’s passing marks the loss of a remarkable woman whose life's work was shaped by love, resilience, and a profound dedication to education. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her—her family, her students, and her community. While her voice may be silent, the lessons she taught and the kindness she shared will echo through generations.

In the serene stillness of that final moment, with her family near, Roselle “Rose” Wilson's spirit found peaceful rest—her journey complete, yet her story forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
