ROSA RIVERA - OBITUARIO

Rosa Rivera, falleció el día Viernes 1 de Enero a las 2:20 PM en el hospital Westside Regional, a causa del virus COVID-19. Nació en Pauna, departamento de Boyacá, Colombia, hija de Siervo de Jesús Medina y Uvaldina Cañón; fue la tercera de seis hijos del matrimonio. Rosa contrajo matrimonio con su esposo Miguel Ángel Rivera el día 1 de marzo de 1996. 

Sus hermanos: Álvaro de Jesús (difunto), Concepción (difunta), Siervo de Jesús (difunto), y le sobreviven María Justina, María Gloria y Luis Eduardo. 

Sus hijos son: Adalver, Carlos, Yadira, Javier y Jaime Andrés. 

Sus nueras son: Jacqueline, Robyn, Michelle y Guiovanna 

Sus nietos son: Tiffany, Anthony, John, Daniela, David, Adriana, Elizabeth y Nicholas 

Sus bisnietos son: Natalie, Emily y Julián 

En su juventud fue de bastante ayuda para sus padres con los enceres de la casa. Se caso muy joven con Virgilio Avila y enviudó en 1971 con cuatro hijos, Adalver, Carlos, Yadira, y Javier. En el año 1980, se graduó de abogada en derecho comercial de la Universidad Externado de Colombia. En el año 1982 nació su hijo Jaime Andrés Rojas en relación con el Mayor de la Policía Jaime A. Rojas Ríos. Se destacó en sus labores como abogada en Bogotá y en Julio de 1990 emigro con sus hijos a los Estados Unidos radicándose en el condado de Broward en el Sur de la Florida. Siempre fue una mujer luchadora y muy trabajadora a través de toda su vida.

Rosa se hizo licenciada en finca raíz y este fue su trabajo hasta que el Señor la llamo a su presencia. Ella fue de gran ayuda para muchas personas a través de su vida y de ahí la gran cantidad de amigos y amigas que comparten el duelo de su inesperada partida. Rosa fue una gran madre, esposa, abuela y amiga. Su enfoque siempre estuvo en la unión familiar y en ayudar a que sus hijos llegasen a llevar una vida de beneficio para sus familias y la sociedad en general, inculcándoles principios para guiar sus vidas. Una esposa amada profundamente, amada y respetada por sus hijos que siempre están llenos de orgullo por la mujer que siempre fue. Y es amada y recordad por sus nietos y bisnietos.

ROSA RIVERA’S OBITUARY

Rosa Rivera passed away peacefully January 1, 2021 at 2:20 PM at Westside regional hospital, due to COVID-19 virus. She was born in Pauna, Boyaca, Colombia and was the daughter of Siervo de Jesus Medina and Uvaldina Cañón; she was the third of six children. She was married to her husband Miguel Angel Rivera on March 1, 1996. 

Her siblings: Álvaro de Jesús (deceased), Concepción (deceased), Siervo de Jesús (deceased), y le sobreviven María Justina, María Gloria and Luis Eduardo. 

Her children are: Adalver, Carlos, Yadira, Javier and Jaime Andrés. 

Her daughters in law are: Jacqueline, Robyn, Michelle and Guiovanna 

Her grandchildren are: Tiffany, Anthony, John, Daniela, David, Adriana, Elizabeth and Nicholas 

Her great grandchildren are: Natalie, Emily and Julián 

In her younger years she was a great help to her parents at home. She was married very young with Virgilio Avila I was widowed very young and left with four children, Adalver, Carlos, Yadira and Javier. In 1980, she graduated as a lawyer from Universidad Externado de Colombia. In 1982 her youngest son Jaime Andres Rojas was born from a relationship with police major Jaime Rojas Rios. She was a prominent lawyer in Bogotá Colombia and in the year 1990 she migrated along with her children to the United States of America, settling in South Florida’s Broward county. She was always a very strong woman and worked hard all of her life. She later become a licensed real estate agent and this was her job until the Lord call her to His presence.

Rosa was of great help to many people throughout her life and you could see that through the large number of friends that are sharing the pain of her sudden departure. Rosa was a great mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She always focused in keeping the family united and in helping her children become successful for their families and for society in general, she taught them the principles to guide them through their lives. She was a deeply loved wife, she was a loved and respected mother to her children who are all filled with pride for the woman that she was. And she is loved and remember by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, from 8:30AM-10:30AM, in T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home

Mass of Christian Burial will follow, 11:00AM, in St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church

Interment will be Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, 10:00AM, in South Florida National Cemetery
