Rolando Roberts was born on June 2, 1938, in the vibrant city of Santiago, Cuba. Across the many seasons of his life, Rolando exemplified dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved and the work he cherished.
Rolando’s early years in Santiago were marked by a strong foundation of education. He completed his high school studies with determination and went on to receive specialized training, quickly distinguishing himself as a talented mechanic. This skill became the cornerstone of his career and was matched only by his entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, Rolando owned and operated his own business and garage, places where his expertise and integrity left a lasting impression on customers and colleagues alike. He found great satisfaction in providing quality service and sharing his knowledge of mechanics—a legacy that enriched his community and set an example for all who knew him.
Outside of his work, Rolando’s passions flourished in quieter moments. He found immense joy in tending to his garden, nurturing birds and plants with a patient and caring hand. Through these simple yet profound pleasures, Rolando demonstrated a love and respect for nature that resonated with all who visited his home. Every bloom, every feathered friend was a testament to his gentle character and appreciation for life’s everyday beauty.
Rolando’s beloved wife, Ada Strachan Roberts, stood by his side throughout their journey together, offering mutual strength and companionship. During Rolando’s final days, Ada lovingly cared for him, surrounding him with peace and comfort as he departed this world on July 22, 2026. His memory is further treasured by his two devoted sisters, Ruby and Joyce, whose bond with Rolando remained steadfast across the years. He was proud of being a Father and devoted his work to caring for his children.
Rolando now joins his dearly missed parents, Nathaniel and Eva Roberts, who preceded him in death. Their influence and love shaped much of who Rolando became and the values he held dear.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Rolando touched are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on July 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL 33317. A funeral service honoring Rolando’s life and legacy will be held at the same location at 2:00 PM on the same day.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Rolando Roberts will remember a man of integrity, warmth, and quiet strength—a devoted husband, loving brother, father, skilled craftsman, and gentle steward of nature. His legacy will be cherished, his memory held close in the hearts he leaves behind.
