Robert George Donahue Trewick, known affectionately as Bob, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Covenant Living Plantation in Florida after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on September 25, 1955, in Kingston, Jamaica as the first child of Alres and George Trewick, Bob lived a life marked by dedication, achievement, and quiet generosity.

Bob’s educational journey began at Belle Sherman Elementary School in Ithaca, New York. Bob and his younger brother had followed their parents to Cornell University where his father was finalizing studies to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Upon return to Jamaica, Bob finished his elementary education at Ferncourt Preparatory School before attending York Castle High School in Browns Town, Jamaica.  After graduation Bob continued at the College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST) in Kingston. Upon graduation and a stint at Burroughs in Kingston, Bob pursued higher education in the United States, beginning at New Haven University in Connecticut before transferring to Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he completed his first degree. Furthering his academic pursuits, Bob earned an MBA from Baruch College in New York.

His professional career was distinguished and impactful. Bob left Ronella, a family company, to start a remarkable 30-year tenure at Prudential Insurance Company. Over those decades, he excelled in systems and project analysis, retiring at the director level before relocating to Florida in 2019.

Bob was more than a career man; he was a man of deep personal character and varied interests. He was a passionate traveler, exploring not only the vast expanses of the United States but also journeying in the Caribbean and Europe. Music was another lifelong passion, with Bob cultivating an extensive record collection. He was also known as the official photographer at outings, family events and his niece’s soccer games, capturing memories with a patient and steady hand.

A committed Christian, Bob regularly attended Bronx Baptist Church in New York and chose to be baptized upon his move to Florida, deepening his faith in his later years. This spiritual devotion was a foundation that offered strength throughout his life and during his illness.

Those close to Bob would remember him as a quiet, dependable, and disciplined individual who would go to great lengths to help others. His loyalty to friends was unwavering, maintaining lifelong connections from his days at York Castle, CAST, Burroughs, and New Haven University. Bob also contributed as an executive active member of the New York Chapter of the National Black MBA Association for many years, demonstrating his commitment to community and professional development.

Bob is survived by his beloved sister Renee, brothers Courtney and Andrew, and sisters-in-law Lilleth and Roslyn. He is fondly remembered by his nieces Nareka and Valerie, nephews Nathan and Nicholas, several close aunts and cousins, and his Aunt Ronnie, who was by his side at the end. He now reunites with his parents, George who passed in 2013 and Alres, who passed away eight months ago. They were his greatest protectors and sources of support throughout his life.

The family will honor Bob’s memory with a viewing and funeral service on April 18, 2026, at Plantation United Methodist Church, located at 1001 NW 70th Ave, Plantation, Florida. The viewing will commence at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., concluding at 12:30 p.m.

Robert Trewick’s legacy is one of quiet strength, unwavering faith, steadfast friendship, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
