Richard A Gosselin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard A. Gosselin, Sr., affectionately known as Papa Goose, on February 5, 2025, in Plantation, Florida, at the age of 91. He was born on April 2, 1933, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Leon and Aurea Gosselin, both of whom predeceased him.

Richard graduated with a degree in accounting and went on to have a fulfilling career with the State of New Hampshire. He served as Chief of Audits and retired in 1995 after decades of dedicated service.

Richard's life was filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He was married to his beloved Pauline Gosselin for over 67 years, sharing a lifetime of memories and unwavering support. Together, they raised three children: Richard Gosselin, Jr. (wife Martha), Patricia Greene, and Donna Vincent (husband Scott) . Among those who held a special place in his heart was his cherished niece, Deborah Gosselin OShea, who was deeply adored by her uncle.

Richard was a proud and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Stephanie Matthews, Heather Cook, Maria Galan, Thomas Gosselin, and Christine Gosselin, as well as a cherished great-grandfather to Makayla, Mia, Jackson, Riley, Sofia, and Jax.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Gosselin, Bertrand Gosselin, and Phyllis Hebert, and by his granddaughter, Maria Galan. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members. He also had a special bond with his caregiver, Klesha Thomas, whom he appreciated for her care and companionship.

Richard was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of playing games with his great-grandchildren. He found great joy in spending time with them, creating moments of fun and laughter that will be cherished by all. He was an avid New England sports fan and never missed his games.

He was affectionately known as "Papa Goose" by his friends at Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, New Hampshire, where he enjoyed a good portion of his retirement. His time by the lake brought him great peace and happiness, and many treasured friendships.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in honor of Richard on May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint David's Catholic Church, 3900 S University Dr, Davie, FL 33328. The family invites all who knew Richard to join in this celebration of his life.
