Olga Virginia Portal, a woman whose heart and home were open to many, passed away on May 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on May 21, 1945, in Havana, Cuba, Olga embraced life with an open heart and a generous spirit that earned her the affectionate name "Mama" from those she nurtured and cared for throughout her years.
Loving and welcoming by nature, Olga was much more than a beloved wife and mother; she was a beacon of comfort and kindness. Her care extended beyond her own family, as she tenderly looked after many babies, creating a sanctuary of love and security wherever she went. Her nurturing presence is a testament to her boundless generosity and compassion.
Olga’s family was the center of her life, a source of endless joy and pride. She shared 64 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Ramon Portal. Together, they built a life filled with devotion and shared memories. Olga was a devoted mother to her daughters, Olga and Lisette, whose lives were profoundly shaped by her guidance and affection. Her legacy flourished through seven cherished grandchildren—Nicolas, Zachary, Christina, Alexander, Katherine, Bella, and Dominic—each a reflection of her enduring influence and love. Olga's heart embraced five great-grandchildren as well: Nico, Audrey, Anthony, Shepherd, and Amelia, carrying her spirit into the future with every smile and hug.
Her family circle also included her dear sons-in-law, Gregory and Pedro, who shared in the love and respect naturally drawn to Mama. Olga was also blessed with the companionship of her sisters, Georgina and Vivian, whose bonds with her were a source of strength and comfort.
The community will honor Olga Virginia Portal’s life with a visitation on May 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston in Sunrise, Florida. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, Florida, followed by her burial at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral, Florida, beginning at noon.
Olga Portal’s spirit remains with all whose lives she graced—a loving, welcoming mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her profound warmth and unwavering love leave an indelible mark on all hearts she touched. Though she has departed this world, her legacy of care and affection will forever echo in the lives she enriched. Rest peacefully, dear Mama, enveloped by the love you gave so freely.
