Norma Johannessen

November 22, 1933 — January 6, 2021

Norma Johannessen, 87, passed away on January 6th, 2021. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Norma Pastore and devoted wife of the late Alfred Johannessen. A loving, caring mother, she is survived by her children, Richard Johannessen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Nancy (Jeff) Rivet of Boca Raton, FL and predeceased by son Michael Johannessen. Also, predeceased by brother Anthony (Angela) Pastore. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughters Paige (Pierre) St. Martin of Metairie, LA, and Chloe Rivet of Boca Raton, FL; great-grandchildren, Michael St. Martin and Juliette St. Martin. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Norma moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1957 and resided in Poinsettia Heights since 1962. She was employed as a nurse at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale for 23 years. After retiring from nursing, she worked at Dillardʼs department store, was an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius X Catholic Church, and a dedicated volunteer at Imperial Point Hospital. Norma enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family. Norma will be greatly missed by family and friends. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
