Listen to Obituary

Norma L. Harrison was born in Claytonia, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1935. She passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 91.

Norma graduated from Struthers High School in 1953 and went on to build a long and faithful career as a Cafeteria Manager for the Broward County School System, where she served for 32 years. In her work and in her home, she was known for dedication, steadiness, and the care for others.

She loved Jesus and was a devoted Christian for most of her life. Those who knew Norma will remember her dry sense of humor and her ability to find laughter in almost any situation. She was kind, caring, generous, and fun, and she found joy in crocheting, reading and in spending time with her family. Among the blessings of her life, she was especially proud of raising her two sons, Dan and Tim, to be hardworking, honest, God-fearing men.

Norma is survived by her son, Tim Niemi (Michele), daughter-in-law Beth Niemi, step-sons David Harrison (Carol), James Harrison, and Scott Harrison. Her love continues through her grandchildren, Danny Niemi, John Niemi (Andrea), Kelsey Williams (Larry), Sean Niemi, and Jacob Niemi, and through her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Sofia, Taylor, Avery, Skye, and McKinney. She loved being with her family and church family.  The memory of her warmth, faith, humor, and generous spirit will remain with them always.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harrison; her son, Dan Niemi; her parents Lentz Peirce & Nellie Godwin; her siblings Bonnie Wild, Lawrence Peirce & Laura Shipley.
