Noel Escobar Sr.
January 15, 1945 – August 7, 2025
Noel Escobar Sr., January 15, 1945 – August 7, 2025. Noel Escobar Sr., 80, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born in Puerto Padre, Cuba, on January 15, 1945, to Ernesto C. Escobar and Neida Lopez. The eldest of four brothers, Noel, immigrated to the United States at the age of 15. Determined to help his family succeed, he worked in a factory during the day and attended night classes at Miami High, where he earned his diploma.
In the late 1960s, Noel and his family moved to Fort Lauderdale. He soon volunteered for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving in the Finance and Accounting Corps at Fort Knox, Kentucky. During his three years of active duty, Noel was also part of a sharpshooting team, where he excelled. After his active service, he continued in the Army Reserves for another three years.
At age 25, Noel met the love of his life, Joyce Elaine Feigner, at a singles group called The Greenhouse at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. They were married on January 17, 1970, and enjoyed 35 beautiful years together until Joyce’s passing on November 5, 2005. Joyce worked as a beautician at Pier 66, while Noel attended BBC and later graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in accounting, made possible by the GI Bill.
Noel lived a life filled with joy, faith, and connection. He loved attending church, singing in the choir, watching NASCAR, and, most of all, spending time with people. His gift for fellowship made everyone feel welcome, regardless of their life circumstances. He believed there was no problem too great that trust in God and hard work could not overcome, and he held firmly to the truth that family is the most important thing in life.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, optimism, and faith that will be carried on by his sons, Noel E. Escobar II (Beth) and Rafael Escobar (Nicole), and his six grandchildren: Natalya, Tucker, Casey, Melaina, Rafael, and Lennox. He will also be remembered by countless friends and extended family whose lives he touched with his kindness and encouragement.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at TM Ralph Funeral Home, Plantation. Viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Burial will be at 2:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Riverside Market, Plantation. For those unable to attend in person, a live webcast will be available.
