Morris Stewart Sr.

Morris Bennett Stewart Sr., 83 of Weston, FL passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.  He worked in the airline industry for over 40 years, retiring from USAIR in 1999.  Ben was born May 21, 1937 in Waterbury, CT to the late Georgia Stewart and David Gilyard.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Dr. Morris Bennett Stewart Jr. and his wife Carol of Weston, FL; his daughter Kimberly Louise Kowalchuck and her husband David of Enfield, CT; his sister Anne Small of Shepherdstown, WV; adoring grandchildren, Morgan Blake Stewart; Alyssa Ann Stewart and her long-time boyfriend Greg Meerbaum; Morris Bennett Stewart III, his wife Elise, and great-granddaughter Emma Parker Stewart.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Joyce of 55 years in 2014.

Ben was an active member of the Weston 55+ Club where he enjoyed many game-days and local trips with friends.  He was also the President of the Garden Homes Homeowners’ Association.  He loved his community and relished opportunities to be an active resident.  Ben was an avid woodworker updating his home, making furniture, and was so proud of the 2-car garage he built by himself for his home in CT.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends (near and far) bearing many great memories; he is missed by many.
