Milton Anthony Kohler Jr.
June 2nd, 1958 – September 11th, 2026
Milton Anthony Kohler Jr. left us to be with our Lord on September 11th, 2026. He was resting peacefully and spent his final days being loved by his beautiful wife, Marisol. He was 68 years old.
Milton (IV) is pre-deceased by his father Milton (III) and mother Teresa, his younger brother Michael Edward and his sister Karen Ann Samons. He is survived by his wife Marisol and stepdaughter Mallely, his son Milton Edward (V), his brother Jeffrey Joseph, his sister Kathleen Ann (Leonardo); his only grandchild Millie, two nephews: Jeffrey and Ryan, several aunts and cousins.
Milton was the first born of five children to Milton and Teresa and was our strong big brother. He was born in Garfield Heights, Cleveland, Ohio in 1958. He was 9 years old when his parents moved the family to Florida where he was introduced to boating and the sea by his paternal grandfather – this sparked some of his lifelong passions.
In his formative years, Milt was a steadfast protector of his brothers and sisters, even as he met the world with a vibrant passion for living. He expressed his love and protection for each of us in his own unique way. When his brother Michael got sick, Milt would pick him up in his arms and physically carry him to his medical appointments. This was a difficult loss that taught us all how precious life is!
He loved his Mom and Dad very much and they were guideposts for him throughout his life. He gave them their second grandson, Milton Edward (V) and our Kohler gang spent many years enjoying days filled with family meals and celebrations, breakfasts on the beach, vacations to the Florida Keys and Naples, and very special holidays. Breakfast on the beach and Christmas morning breakfasts – Milt was the chef. He could destroy a kitchen – but he made the best breakfast one could imagine! On those beach days, as well as with boating and hunting, Milt was always the one with the best gear.
Milt’s professional life began as a teenage entrepreneur mowing lawns, and he had all of his brothers and sisters working for him. It was the work ethic his parents gave him at a very young age. Milt attended college, secured his private pilot’s license, and took that experience into a very successful career in Air Freight, following his father’s footsteps in the transportation industry. He worked at CF Air Freight, Burlington Freight and several other companies and was well-respected. Milt capped his career at DHL and worked on the government side of logistics to make sure the tanks, armory and equipment that our troops needed in Afghanistan arrived timely. He could loaa plane mathematically like no one else! Milt retired and after a short while found less intense jobs that enriched him at this stage of his life – at Outdoor World in the gun department, and at a Boat Club sending daily charters out to sea.
He studied hard, believed in thorough preparation, and never did anything halfway. This dedication was highly evident in his passions; an avid lover of the ocean and Florida beaches, he found immense joy in boating, fishing, and scuba diving. Milt took his love for the sea to the highest levels, earning credentials as a Divers Alert Network (DAN) Diving Emergency Specialist, a PADI Master Scuba Diver, and a PADI Divemaster. His desire to protect others extended well onto land, where he proudly served his community as a member of the Department of Homeland Security Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and as a First Responder for Firefighters with the Coral Springs Fire Department.Milt traveled the world for business, but his greatest travel stories came from trips to Hawaii and his honeymoon with Marisol to Bora Bora!
Milton married Marisol on March 14th, 2020 during a beautiful seaside ceremony at a restaurant on Fort Lauderdale Beach. On that day, he told us she was “the love of his life”. They enjoyed days at the beach, traveling and mostly that simple joy of spending time together at their home in Tamarac. When Milt spoke of Marisol, his eyes sparkled. He was proud of her and loved her very much.
