Mario Barbachan, known affectionately as "Gumer," a man who touched the lives of many with his kind heart, unwavering love for family, and passion for music and sports. Born in Lima, Peru, Mario's journey came to a peaceful end in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Throughout his life, Mario found joy in simple pleasures like watching movies, especially "The Godfather" trilogy, and cheering for his favorite sports teams including the New York Mets and the New York Knicks. His dedication to Universitario de Deportes de Lima showcased his pride in his roots. Mario's love for music shone bright through his admiration for Cesar Altamirano, Embajadores Criollos, and the tunes of Marc Anthony.

One of Mario's fondest memories was spending New Year's Eve dancing with his beloved wife, Theresa. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship that inspired those around them.

Mario Barbachan lived a life defined by hard work and generosity. He had a knack for putting others' needs above his own and always wore a smile that lit up the room. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Among Mario's proudest accomplishments were walking his daughters, Joanne and Pamela, down the aisle and welcoming his four grandchildren into the world. Family meant everything to Mario, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.

In this time of grief, we remember Mario's unwavering spirit and the comfort he brought to those around him. As he drew his final breath surrounded by family on March 8th, he transitioned from this life enveloped in love and grace.

Mario is reunited in peace with his parents Mario Barbachan Sr., Cristina Neyra, sister Juana Venegas, nephew Jorge Luis “Koky” Mostacero Barbachan, father-in-law Fernando “Coco” Reyna, as they watch over their surviving family: Theresa "Natacha" Barbachan; daughters Joanne del Carmen Murillo (and son-in-law Marco Murillo), Pamela Janice Astori (and son-in-law Giulio Astori); sisters Emma Barbachan Vallejos, Lucia Barbachan Mostacero, Manuela Venegas Toledo, Nomi Venegas, Irma Venegas Ramal; grandchildren Alexia Astori, Nadia Murillo, Gianna Murillo, Francesco Astori; along with countless other relatives and friends who cherish Mario's memory.

A visitation will be held on March 13th at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston followed by other services at The Gardens of Boca Raton - Cemetery & Funeral Services on March 14th. These gatherings will offer an opportunity to honor Mario's life and share cherished memories that will forever live on in our hearts.

As we bid farewell to Mario Barbachan in body but not in spirit, may we find solace in the beautiful memories he left behind and the love that continues to unite us all. His legacy of kindness and compassion will continue through generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Meme, we love you so much and we will love you forever and ever.
