Joseph Ford

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Ford, who left this world peacefully at home in Davie, Florida, on August 6, 2026, following a brief illness. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 14, 1931—a beginning that would mark a life steeped in love, service, and unwavering commitment to family and country.

Joseph's early years in Brooklyn shaped him into a man of character and resilience. As a young adult, he answered the call to serve his nation, joining the United States Marine Corps. From August 15, 1950, to August 16, 1954, Joe served with valor on the front lines in Korea as part of B Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, Field Artillery, 1st Marine Division FMF. His courage and sacrifice were honored with the Korean Service Medal adorned with three stars—a testament to his bravery in the face of great adversity.

After returning home, Joseph transitioned from the discipline of military life to the world of banking, where he began his professional journey as a loan manager. Joe brought the same dedication and trustworthiness to his career that he had exhibited in service, becoming known for his integrity and the genuine care he showed to each client and colleague. Seeking new challenges and driven by a desire to cintinue growing, Joe later transitioned into the automobile industry, rising to the role of General Manager of a dealership.  Colleagues and clients alike remember him for his honesty, generosity, and the way he treated every person with equal respect.

But it was his life beyond work and duty that shone the brightest. Joseph shared a loving partnership with his devoted wife, Helen, whose presence brightened his days and whose support remained a constant source of strength. Together, they built a family rooted in mutual respect, laughter, and shared memories.

Joe is survived by Helen, his beloved wife; his sons Stephen Ford and Kevin Ford; daughter-in-law Kimberly Ford; grandchildren Christopher Ford, Jennifer Ford, Kyle Ford and Kurtis Ford; and his brother, George Ford. Each carries forward a piece of Joe’s enduring wisdom and the gentle kindness he imparted so freely. The memory of Joseph is also held close by those who knew him through their own connections and friendships along life’s path.

Joe was preceded in death by his cherished son, Michael Ford, whose memory remained close to his heart. He is now reunited with his son Michael, his parents, Milton and Josephine Ford, siblings, Lillian Reisigl, Harold Ford and Joan Owen and daughter-in-law Kathy Ford.

Joseph’s legacy is not just in his achievements or his military honors but in the way he touched those around him—with quiet grace, steadfast loyalty, and an abiding sense of duty. His laughter, stories, and the warmth he brought to every room will be missed deeply by all whose lives he graced.

A visitation to honor Joseph’s memory will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL. A Mass celebrating his life will follow on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Saint Gregory The Great Catholic Church, 200 N University Dr, Plantation, FL. Joseph will be laid to rest with military honors on August 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we will forever cherish the legacy of Joseph Ford—a man who lived a life devoted to family, community, and country. His story will continue to inspire us, reminding us always of the power of integrity, love, and humble service.
