Our beloved Luis “Papi” Alberto Betancourt passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 94. He fought the good fight to the very end in the same way he lived his life, with spirit of perseverance.

Luis met the love of his life, Luz Elena at a Christmas party in Colombia, and it was love at first sight. They made a life together that spanned over 52 years. Together they had a daughter, Sandra. He is also survived by his daughters, Martha, Cristina, Maureen, and son William.

Luis served in the U.S. Air Force in New Jersey. He had a passion of everything airplanes. He obtained his degree in engineering that paved the way for him to work with airplanes until his retirement. In his free time he loved building craft remote planes, go fishing, and traveling. His greatest joy though was to be together as a family.
