Lionel Vilsaint was born on July 17, 1952 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was the son of Frantz Larsen and Eugenie Vilsaint. In his younger years, he completed his primary and secondary school education in Haiti. He then  traveled to New York where he resided for 10 years. In New York, he studied and received an Associate’s degree in Computer Science. Lionel then returned to Haiti and worked for Haiti’s Department of Finance. At the Department of Finance, Lionel worked as a Payroll Accountant alongside his uncle, Fritz Larsen(deceased) who was the Director of Haiti’s Department of Finance at the time. At Haiti’s Department of Finance, Lionel was in charge of processing the payroll for the entire Haitian government and its officials. Upon his return to Haiti, Lionel studied Commercial Photography at the College of St. Louis Gonzage. Lionel welcomed into the world his son, Ronald Vilsaint on September 13, 1981.

On September 7, 1989, Lionel married his wife of 33 years, Marie Josette Vilsaint. On September 30, 1990, their daughter Johane Stephanie Vilsaint was born. In 1991, Lionel permanently immigrated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife, Josette & daughter, Johane. In Fort Lauderdale, he created a new life for himself and his family. Over the years, Lionel worked as a photographer & in transportation for Budget Rental Car, Shuttle Port and Limousine of South Florida. Lionel passed away on February 13, 2023 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lionel was known as a peaceful, humble, nice and respectful man.  He loved his family immensely and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible. Lionel was loved and will be truly missed by his friends and family. Lionel was preceded in death by his father, Frantz Larsen, his beloved mother, Eugenie Vilsaint & sister, Joceline, Nicolas.

Lionel is survived by

Wife: Marie Josette Vilsaint

Children: Ronald Vilsaint(son), Johane Vilsaint(daughter)

Grand-children: Abigaëlle Vilsaint &  Vilsaint Calvin Roodensky

Siblings:  Clifford, Ghilda, Marjorie, Elsée Larsen.

Nieces & Nephews: David Francois(Marjorie Sanon-Francois), Darshana Francois, Berlina Mcdoom(Morris Mcdoom), Natalie Nicolas, Nancy Nicolas.

Grand Nieces & Nephews: Quintin Sejour(Gina Sejour), Brendin Pierre(Tiarra Pierre), Gregory Mcdoom(Katarina Mcdoom), Edward Mcdoom, Matthew Mcdoon, Andrew Spence, Nathaniel Nicolas, Kirmani Young, Joceline Francois.

Great-grand nieces & nephews: Zhivargo, Julius, Arissa, Teyanna, Teagan & Lincoln Ricot.

  

Lionel is also survived by a host of cousins, relatives & extended family.
