Laura Melida Sanchez

Laura Melida Sanchez, 85, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, peacefully departed on July 9th, 2025. She went into the arms of our Lord, our Creator, and to be with her “amorcito”, her husband of 60 years. A beautiful woman, with a soft-spoken voice and a superb heart. She leaves behind her son, daughter and grandchildren.

Born in Tacabamba, Cajamarca, Peru, to her two loving parents Felipe Herrera and Emilia Mejia. Laura Melida is the devoted wife and beautiful companion of 60 years to her deceased husband Jose Manuel, a blessing and inspiration to all. Together they created a beautiful family including her son Jose Manuel and daughter Melita. She is also the loving mother-in-law to Joseph Manieri. Laura Melida is predeceased by her siblings Rita, Delicia and Edilberto. She is the beloved sister to Humberto and Alcira. She is survived by her precious grandchildren Brianna, Sophia and Christopher.

A truly good, kind, honest and hardworking woman dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren who leaves a rich legacy of love and gratitude. Mami spent enjoyable moments and provided unwavering support to her cherished grandchildren. Always caring about her entire family before herself by offering important advice and taking care of details to ensure the safety and well-being of her loved ones. Her contagious smile and kindness radiated joy and positivity on a monumental scale and was a captivating feature that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. Laura Melida lived a wonderful life full of love and laughter who enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, listening to romance stories, connecting with her family and friends and enjoying adventurous world travels. Her hard work led to a successful career path in the cosmetology and beauty industry, working alongside top international hair stylists. She also enjoyed spending moments with family and friends in the US and Peru. She left such a powerful impact during her lifetime that her parting was deeply felt by all. In short, she was a simple woman with an enormous heart, sweet natured and with a serene demeanor.

Laura Melida will be reposing at TM Ralph Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Ave, Sunrise, FL 33325 with a prayer service held on Thursday, July 24th at 5pm Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1301 SW 136th Ave, Davie, FL 33325 on Friday, July 25th at 9:30 am followed by entombment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, 1411 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172 at 11am.

Laura Melida will be truly missed by all her family and friends in the US, Peru and around the world. Her passing leaves a significant void in our hearts.

Laura Mélida Herrera de Sanchez, 85, de Aberdeen, Nueva Jersey, partió pacíficamente el 9 de julio del 2025. Se fue al encuentro de Nuestro Señor, el Creador, y al lado de su amorcito, su esposo de 60 años. Una mujer linda, de voz tierna y un corazón insuperable. Deja a su hijo, hija y nietos.

Nació en Tacabamba, Cajamarca, Perú, de sus dos amorosos padres Felipe Herrera y Emilia Mejía. Esposa de 60 años del difunto Jose Manuel, una bendición e inspiración para todos. Juntos crearon una hermosa familia que incluye a su hijo Jose Manuel y a su hija Melita. También es la amorosa suegra de Joseph Manieri. A Laura Mélida le precedieron en la muerte sus hermanos, Rita, Delicia y Edilberto. Es la amada hermana de Humberto y Alcira. Le sobreviven sus preciosos nietos Brianna, Sophia y Christopher.

Una mujer verdaderamente buena, amable, honesta y trabajadora, dedicada a su esposo, hijos y nietos, que deja un rico legado de amor y gratitud. Mami paso momentos agradables y brindo apoyo inquebrantable a sus queridos nietos. Siempre se preocupó por toda su familia antes que por sí misma, ofreciendo consejos importantes y cuidando los detalles para garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de sus seres queridos. Su sonrisa y amabilidad contagiosa irradiaba alegría y positividad a una escala monumental y era una característica cautivadora que calentaba los corazones de los que la conocían. Laura Mélida vivió una vida maravillosa llena de amor y risas, disfrutaba de sus pupiletras, escuchar historietas de amor, conectarse con su familia y amistades y tomar viajes aventurosos por el mundo. Su trabajo incansable la llevo a tener una carrera exitosa en la industria de cosmetología y belleza, trabajando al lado de estilistas top de renombre Internacional. También disfrutaba de pasar momentos con familiares y amistades en los EE. UU y Perú. Dejo un impacto tan poderoso durante su vida que su partida fue sentida profundamente por todos. En resumen, era una mujer sencilla con un corazón enorme, de naturaleza dulce y un comportamiento sereno.

Laura Mélida descansará en la funeraria TM Ralph Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Ave, Sunrise, FL 33325, y habrá un servicio de oración el jueves 24 de julio a las 5pm. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia Católica St. Bonaventure, 1301 SW 36th Ave, Davie, FL 33325, el viernes 25 de julio a las 9:30 am, seguida del entierro en el Cementerio Católico Our Lady of Mercy, 1411 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172 a las 11 a.m.

Toda su familia y amistades en los EE. UU, Perú y en todo el mundo extrañaran mucho a Laura Mélida. Su fallecimiento deja un gran vacío en nuestros corazones.
