Lascelles Clement Williams, affectionately known as "Las," was born on January 30, 1945, in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, to the late Aston and Iris Williams. He was one of three sons and was preceded in death by his brother, Ashley Williams.
Las attended Rollington Town Elementary School and later studied Electrical Engineering at the College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST). In 1974, he migrated to the United States in search of greater opportunities. Four years later, he married Rosalind Williams, and together they welcomed their beloved daughter, Kamilah Williams.
Las had a passion for driving and enjoyed a long career as a tractor-trailer driver with J.B. Hunt and Wonder Bread. He proudly became a United States citizen in 1986.
Known for his warm hospitality, Las loved preparing his famous fish tea and goat head soup for family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting antique furniture, classic cars, and caring for his cherished parakeet, "Birdie." In his later years, he settled in Plantation, Florida, where he found joy in tending to his coconut, mango, June plum, soursop, and palm trees.
On June 20, 2026, God called Las home to eternal rest. Though he will be deeply missed, his kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and love for family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Las leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Kamilah Williams; his devoted brother, Horace Williams; his nephew, Dwight Williams; his niece, Michelle Williams; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
