Kitty Shuler, beloved by many, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Pompano Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 4, 1940, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kitty dedicated much of her life to embracing creativity, family, and community.

A proud native of South Florida, Kitty’s career began as a hairdresser after she graduated from Broward Beauty School, obtaining her Cosmetology and Hairdressing License. She spent many years beautifying the lives of those around her before stepping back to focus on raising her children. In 1978, with the opening of the Broward Mall, Kitty returned to the workforce as a salesperson in the Wig and Hat Department at Jordan Marsh. Her talents flourished further when she became a Floral Designer and Manager at Worden’s World of Crafts in Plantation, where she excelled as the Head Buyer for the Floral and Christmas department. After Worden’s closed, Kitty continued her journey in retail management at establishments such as Toys R Us and Michael’s, ultimately returning to the Broward Mall at Sears for her final years in the world of retail.

Kitty's warm spirit extended beyond her professional life. She was deeply involved in her community through her active membership in the Plantation Junior Women’s Club and the PTA. Over the years, she formed bonds of friendship that lasted decades. Each workplace she inhabited was not merely a job to her, but a place where she fostered relationships that became akin to family. Her greatest passion, however, was her family. Kitty's granddaughters—Devon, Sarah, and Erin—brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, always putting her family first.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Shevan Deming; her son, Duffy Shuler; and her cherished granddaughters, Devon, Sarah, and Erin. Kitty's legacy of love and connection will continue to live on in their hearts.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry “Hank” Shuler, and her parents, John and Dora Lee Haywood, as well as her brothers, Julian and “Buddy” Haywood. Their memories will forever be intertwined with Kitty’s unwavering spirit and the love she shared throughout her life.

Kitty Shuler's life was a beautiful tapestry woven from the threads of family, friendship, and creativity. Her presence will be sorely missed, but the love and laughter she instilled in her family and friends will forever resonate within those who were fortunate enough to know her.
