Kaya Segar, 20, of Davie, Florida went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

She was born on May 30, 2004, in Plantation, Florida. At a young age, Kaya was bright and beautiful and gifted in many ways.

As a young girl, Kaya loved art, painting, drawing, baking, and making things with her hands. She could come up with an idea for a project just by seeing a piece of plastic from something we just bought. Kaya was a very thoughtful gift giver.

As a child, she participated on children’s worship team. This led to her being an active member in the Calvary Chapel Plantation youth group, volunteering in children’s ministry and local outreach opportunities such as the homeless ministry. She loved to bake cupcakes and cake pops for fundraising activities and other occasions.

Kaya often wrote short stories and kept journals. She set goals for herself and worked hard to accomplish them. In the last couple of years Kaya achieved some of her big goals such as getting a good job, driver’s license, saving money and buying a car. She did all of these things pretty much on her own. She was always striving to move forward and better herself.

Kaya leaves behind her loving grandmother, Jan Altieri “Booshie”, her beautiful sister, Tiana, her Uncle Domenick “Uncle D”, Aunt Melissa and Aunt Shana, Great Aunt Cheri, Grandpa Joe, and cousins Isabella, and Madison.

Although Kaya’s life was short, she made a lasting impact and memory for all who knew her. When you think of Kaya, remember her tender heart and thoughtfulness of others. Celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

Funeral services will be at Calvary Chapel Plantation, 11801 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, Florida, 33325, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 am.
