Judith Dona Tosi (Carbone), beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, peacefully
passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born on July 27, 1927, in
Brooklyn, New York, to her parents Carmela and Joseph Carbone, and was the youngest of three
siblings. In 1952, she married Louis John Tosi, and together they established their home in
Glendale, New York, where they raised their family.
During her time in Glendale, Judith was a dedicated parishioner of St. Pancras Church. Her
summers were spent in Sound Beach, New York, and upon retirement, she and Louis settled in
Lakehurst, New Jersey, where many happy years were spent. Earlier this year, she made her final
move to Tamarac, Florida, where she embarked on her eternal journey.
Judith's greatest joy in life was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
There was nothing that made her happier than attending family gatherings and celebrations of her
children's milestones. She relished the time spent playing cards with her family and friends,
cheering for the Yankees, and of course those trips to Atlantic City.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Judith Ann Zilm (John), Barbara Ann Renna (Michael),
Mary Ann Howley, JoAnn Uhl (George), and LouAnn Mannino (Leonard); her ten cherished
grandchildren, Michael Zilm, Joseph Hicks III (Cheryl), Brian Zilm (Valentina), Elizabeth
Howley Grasso (John), Robert Howley, Christina Uhl, Victoria Howley, Jack Uhl, Grace Uhl,
and Leonardo Mannino; and her four adored great-grandchildren, Axel Zilm, Bennett Zilm,
Joseph Hicks IV, and Gemma Zilm.
Judith's unwavering faith in God was a cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in reciting her
special prayers, offered every day with love and care for everyone she knew.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of her remarkable life will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church
in Belle Harbor, New York, on Saturday, October 14th, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St.
Mary's of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood, New Jersey, at a later date.
Judith Dona Tosi will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all
those who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
