Josephine Miracola

October 24, 1920 — March 21, 2025

Davie

On March 21, 2025, the world lost a beacon of strength and warmth, Josephine Miracola, whose remarkable journey began on October 24, 1920, in the bustling heart of New York City. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Josephine enriched the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit and resilient character. After spending several fruitful years in retailing, she gratefully found her purpose at the registrar's office of Nassau Community College. In 1973, her heart led her to the sunny shores of Florida, where she would continue to shine for the rest of her days with family members close by.

Josephine's life was a tapestry woven with threads of resilience and devotion. A strong and outgoing woman, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life: knitting the fabric of family gatherings with her beloved cooking and baking, which delighted those fortunate enough to partake in her culinary creations. She held a deep spiritual connection that guided her through life, never missing a Sunday Mass, and generously sharing her faith through dedicated prayer—never forgetting to pray the rosary, a constant act of love and devotion.

Her hobbies reflected her gentle nature; whether it was needlepointing or crocheting heartfelt creations for her pro-life church ministry or delightful gifts for loved ones, each stitch was infused with her warmth. The soft rustle of newspapers and the turning pages of novels provided her with comfort and connection to the world around her, as she kept well-informed and engaged with current affairs and stories alike.

Even from afar, Josephine maintained an unbreakable bond with her family and friends, cherishing every conversation, every shared moment that flowed from her phone lines. Her beautiful ability to nurture connections spoke volumes about her caring heart and the legacy of love she cultivated over her long and fulfilled life.

Josephine shared her life with her dear husband, Frank Miracola, after her first marriage to John Miracola Sr., who had also played an integral role in her story. Preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Anne Cavalluzzo and Gloria Argento, and many other cherished family members and close friends, she has crossed into eternity, where she is reunited with those she cherished.

Josephine leaves behind a loving family that includes her son, John Miracola, and his wife, Leona; her son, Kenny Miracola; her grandchildren, Johnny, Michael, Lori, Scott, Lisa, Andrew, Jennifer, and Rachel; as well as her treasured great-grandchildren: Anthony, Angelo, Giovanni, Gianna, Maryam, Connor, Asia, Levi, Nicholas, Emery, Avery, and Kylie. And many other beloved nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, forever blessed by the memories they created together and the lessons she imparted.

On March 24, 2025, family and friends will gather to honor Josephine's extraordinary 104 years of life, celebrating the eternal light she brought into their lives. Beginning with a Mass at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, Florida, followed by a Mass and a final farewell at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, her legacy will be both remembered and cherished profoundly.

Josephine Miracola lived her life steeped in love, faith, and an unwavering strength that inspired all who crossed her path. Now, as we bid farewell, we find solace in the knowledge that she departed this world in the same manner she embraced life—without pain and suffering, embraced by the divine love of God. Her journey continues to inspire, and her spirit will undoubtedly linger in the hearts of those who loved her most.
