Joseph Thomas Jurkowski, Jr.

Joseph Thomas Jurkowski, Jr, of Key West, Florida passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 in Coral Springs, Florida.

He was born on September 22, 1948 in New York, New York to Joseph Thomas Jurkowski, Sr, and Stella Jurkowski. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Kenneth Thomas Jurkowski, his wife Anh Jurkowski, and his niece Rena Jurkowski. 

Joseph led a full life and was known for his passion for travel. He visited all continents except Antarctica many times. He also enjoyed attending annual reunions with his fraternity brothers on their “Big Chill” weekends.

He graduated from the University of Florida where he earned his JD. Prior to his retirement in 2006 he worked for the SEC, Freddie Mac and retired from Bear Stearns.

Joseph is survived by his life partner Judith Scott, formerly of Key West, niece Lan Murphy and her husband John, their daughters Rena, (husband Jeffrey) and Elizabeth (partner Matt) and his niece Sophia, (husband Ricky) and their children, Ricky Jr, Juanita, Joshua, and Lucious.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 9:30 AM, Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Plantation Florida.
