Jorge Lezcano

Jorge Lezcano, age 78, passed away at home surrounded by his adoring family. Jorge was born April 20,1943 in Ciego de Avila, Cuba and died on November 14, 2021, in Weston, Florida.

Jorge was a devoted husband, loving father, friend, mentor, professor, yoga instructor, man of deep religious faith and Hispanic advertising pioneer. His life’s journey took him to Tarrytown, New York where he learned English and graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School. Life and his desire to explore the world took him to Louvain, Belgium where he learned French, studied Philosophy and Business Administration at the Université Catholique de Louvain and most importantly, met the love of his life, Marilu. He and Marilu married in Mexico City, Mexico in 1972 and moved to Miami, Florida where they would start a family and Jorge’s children, Claudia and Jorge Jr. were born. Jorge’s passion to impact positive change and aspire for a better way and a better world was inspirational to those who knew him best. He leaves behind his wife Marilu, children, Jorge Jr and Claudia, his cousin, Caritina Lopez and dearest friend, Linda Mullings who are heartbroken that his journey on earth has come to an end but know he is now resting comfortably, daydreaming about the next family trip to Sanibel Island, Florida and delighting in the joy, peace and memories that Heaven is now providing him. We love you deeply and will miss you always. Hasta Pronto. 

Visitation will be on November 19, 2021 from 12PM to 2PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home located at 371 N.W. 136 Avenue, Sunrise, Florida 33325. Followed by a Catholic Mass, at 3PM, at Jorge’s parish, St. Katharine Drexel located at 2501 S. Post Road, Weston, Fl 33327.  The Funeral Mass will be streamed.  Stream will be available on Friday
