John William Sundberg Jr.

John William Sundberg Jr., 76, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on June 28, 1950, and spent many years living in New York before retiring from the US Postal Service and moving to Florida.

John was the beloved husband of Ana L. Acosta, whom he married on February 3, 2019. He was a loving father to Heather Craven of New York and Kristy Sundberg of Washington, DC, and a proud grandfather to Tal Craven and Quinn Sundberg.

He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Lou Sundberg, Judy Bovaird, Peggy Williams, Mary Rosati, Cathy Walsh, Danny Sundberg, Kevin Rooney, and Donald Sundberg, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, John served with Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Infantry. His military service was an important part of his life, and his family will always be proud of his service to his country.

John enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures. He loved golf, fishing, barbecues, following the stock market, and working on crossword puzzles. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered for the memories he created with those he loved.

Visiting hours will be at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Planation, 33317 on Sunday 8/16/2026 at 2-6pm. Church Services will be at St. Andrew’s Church, 9950 NW 29 Street Coral Springs, FL 33065 on Monday 8/17/2026 at 11am. Celebration of Life will be at the Elks Lodge #2407 240 W. Prospect Road, Oakland Park, FL. 33309 on Monday 8/17/2026 from 4-8pm. The Interment with Military Honors will be at South Florida National Cemetery on Tuesday 8/18/2026 at 9:30 am.
