John Thomas “JT” Bartley

August 13, 2004 – August 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we share the passing of John Thomas “JT” Bartley, who left this world on August 4, 2025, just nine days before his 21st birthday.

To try and describe JT is nearly impossible — because JT wasn’t someone you could explain in words. You had to experience him. He was energy, light, mischief, laughter, loyalty, and love all rolled into one unforgettable person. He was that guy — the one who made you feel seen, who pulled you into the moment, and who never let you forget that life was meant to be lived.

Born to John and Michele on August 13, 2004, JT came into this world with fire in his soul and a grin that never quit. He was a goofball from the start — constantly teasing his mom, pranking everyone in sight, and driving both of his parents completely crazy (in the most loving way). He was fearless to the core — skydiving for fun, daring life to keep up with him — and giving his mom and dad a thousand mini heart attacks along the way.

JT was a true original: fun, loving, selfless, hard-working, ambitious, caring, and present. He showed up for people. Always. He remembered birthdays, gave the perfect gifts, and made every friend feel like family. He believed in being there for the people he loved — no matter what.

He was the beloved father of Beaux, a role he stepped into with his whole heart. Beaux was his pride and joy — his greatest adventure.

JT was also a huge animal lover, a country music guy through and through, and a diehard Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Auburn Tigers fan. He could talk football all day, then crush a box of snacks in one sitting (so yes, his family had to hide the treats). He loved to indulge, but he also worked hard — whether it was in the gym, on a run, or more recently, during peaceful morning meditations followed by a jog around the lake.

He cherished his Mutti (grandmother) and made special trips just to spend time with her — she held a treasured place in his heart.

JT lived by the words of George Strait:

“I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.”

And man, did he live that truth. He lived with his whole heart, poured laughter into every room, and never missed a chance to make a memory.

He is survived by his son Beaux, his loving parents John and Michele and a wide circle of family and friends — all of whom were lucky enough to know him, to feel him, and to be changed by him.

There are no words strong enough to contain who JT was. He wasn’t just loved. He was felt.

And his presence will echo in the lives of everyone who knew him — forever.
