Joan Morgan, born Doris Joan Morgan on February 22, 1936, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Plantation, Florida, at the age of 89.

The youngest of twelve children born to Maude Brice Morgan and Harvey Franklin Morgan Sr., she later legally changed her name to Joan Morgan—the name by which she was lovingly known throughout her life.

A dedicated caregiver at heart, Joan trained at Bellevue Nursing School in New York before embarking on a distinguished nursing career. She spent many years as a neonatal nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where her compassion and expertise brought comfort to countless newborns and their families. She later worked as a private pediatric nurse in Los Angeles and concluded her career as a nurse supervisor at West Broward Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Florida.

Though she never married or had children of her own, Joan poured boundless love into her extended family and wide circle of friends. She was the person others turned to for medical guidance, a helping hand, a ride, or simply a listening ear. Generous, elegant, and full of life, she filled her days with friendship, laughter, and adventure.

An exceptional cook, Joan loved hosting and treating guests to memorable meals in her home. She had a deep passion for travel, exploring the world with enthusiasm and curiosity. A lover of all music—especially classical—she cherished culture, meaningful conversation, and connecting with people from every background. Her kindness, humor, grace, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Joan is survived by her brother, Maurice F. Morgan; her sister, Elizabeth Ann Clarke; and many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great-grandnephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched so profoundly.
