Jane Anne Marone

Jane Anne Marone, of Coconut Creek (Wynmoor), Florida, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, with her loving husband, Kevin Collins and her dear friend Lorraine Brevetti, at her side.

Jane left behind two stepsons, Kevin John (Kerrin) and Liam Christopfer (Jessica) Collins.

Jane and Kevin were proud loving grandparents to Kevin Patrick, Stella Grace and Lila Rose, Kevin and Kerrin’s children and Amanda, Abigail and James (who greeted Jane in Heaven) Liam and Jessica’s children.

Jane was born to Irene (nee Stegman) and Salvatore John Marone in Orange County New York on March 13, 1951.

Jane grew up in Walden New York surrounded by the love and support of the Marone family. She attended Valley Central High School and earned a degree in English at Wagner College on Staten Island New York. She continued her education and earned a master’s degree in Education at the College of Staten Island.

She met the love of her life Kevin Joseph Collins when both worked for Saint Vincent’s Hospital on Staten Island. They lived in the Great Kills section of Staten Island for 38 years until 2020 when they moved to Sunrise Florida which had been their part time home as “Snow Birds.”

In 2024 they moved to Coconut Creek, Florida.

As the loving, giving person Jane was, she was perfectly suited to be a New York City Department of Education Special Education teacher.

To further her desire to help those with Special needs, Jane founded Special People of Staten Island, a club for those with special needs that offered them a chance to be themselves and enjoy the company of peers.

During their time in Sunrise, Kevin served as Condo Board President and Jane as a Board member for 10 years. Jane’s kindness and willingness to listen endeared her to the people of their building. The saying Jane used during those years was “My door is always open.” Jane thoroughly enjoyed having neighbors and friends stop by for a chat and a piece of candy from the big bowl by the door.

Jane had the gift of always being able to make whomever she was talking to feel like the most important person in the room.

She was known by all who met her as witty, sharp, and endlessly caring. She had a unique way of making people feel seen and supported, always ready to lend a hand or share words of encouragement. Jane saw the Condo building as her neighborhood.

Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives, and she will be remembered as someone who gave of herself freely, without hesitation. To Kevin, she was not only a loving partner but also his truest friend and most trusted confidant.

Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void, but her laughter, wisdom, and selfless love will remain forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Above all, however, Jane’s devotion to her Catholic faith was the center of her life. Joining the Catholic Church as an adult with the guidance and support of her husband Kevin, Jane loved to attend Mass and never planned a trip for her and Kevin without figuring out where to go to Mass along the way.

To know Jane was to love Jane.

Her life can be summed up with the words Jane lived by: Forgive each other; love each other; and live together as God’s children.

Jane will be waked on Monday September 29, 2025, at T. M. Ralph Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation 33317, from 1 PM to 5 PM.

A funeral Mass will be held for Jane on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at San Isidor Catholic Church 2310 Dr. M.L. King Jr. Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33069.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jane’s memory to charity of your choice.

Following the funeral Mass, Jane will be laid to rest in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, North Lauderdale, Florida.
