Let’s go out with a bang! Young James would want it that way
Young James passed away on Sept 20, 2024 when he was tragically struck by a fuel tanker truck driver on Las Olas & Seabreeze Blvd.
Here’s the info for the Memorial ride and the cycling community remembrance of our dear friend.
Many thanks to our wonderful friends at Tarpon River Brewing for hosting this event.
We will ride our bikes around the beautiful city of Ft Lauderdale to celebrate James passion of cycling. We also ride to bring awareness to motorist to share the roads.
After the ride, we will celebrate with food, drinks and share beautiful memories about Young James. Giving out much needed hugs and strength to Lisa Marie Young and Jack. BTW, Both will be cycling along with us .Memorial Ride Information
Love on a Bike - An Ode to my Beloved, James 9/16/1969 - 9/20/2024
Ours were two hearts that met on a bike.
Everyone saw it -love at first sight.
Riding with friends -so many laughs.
Too fast it was, the time that passed.
Zigging and zagging like alley cats.
Back roads and side streets -a lover’s glance.
Wind in our hair, salt air on our skin
how I loved to watch those Bianchi wheels spin.
Sometimes you’d chase
and sometimes you’d lead,
proudly poised on that turquoise steed.
Every now and then we’d find a place to retreat.
A much needed rest for our tired feet.
A little stop to enjoy the ocean
and relish in our love in motion.
A delicate balance, cycling and love.
Fitting together like hand in glove.
Our life together was filled with adventure,
truly a treasure -a love to remember.
Tragically, it ended too soon
but I know you’re zipping through the cosmos
and past the moon.
Forever Young, never growing old.
The most beautiful angel
with wings to behold.
Riding on clouds through Heaven’s gold gate
-I can hear your voice saying
“pumpkin, it’s great!”
As long as I live,
try as I might, I’ll never forget
the day I found love on a bike.
