James Frederick Fierle, 76, of Plantation, FL, passed away on August 30, 2023. Jim was born to Frederick and Jane Fierle on September 18, 1946, in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Cleveland and from Bowling Green State University. He received a Master's Degree from Florida International University. He was a Certified Public Accountant and had a 42-year career with the Internal Revenue Service. His hobbies were playing the guitar and following his favorite sports teams – the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He loved to travel and visited 48 states and their capitals over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra, and children Becky (Mark) Hachenburg, Michael (Michele) Fierle, and Andrew (Larissa) Fierle, two grandchildren, Austin Fierle and Zoe Fierle and siblings Nancy Fierle, David Fierle, Sally Boyer, and Larry Fierle.
Jim will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his faith and his family and his dedication to constant learning and growth in his field. Throughout his career with the IRS he displayed exceptional expertise and knowledge in navigating complex tax regulations and served as a classroom instructor many times to fellow agents on various IRS subjects.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church where he was a member for 36 years. The Mass will be on October 12, 2023 at 11 AM with a Celebration of Life to follow.
