Helene Paula Dunne

On Wednesday Morning December 2^nd, 2020, Helene Paula Dunne died at the age of 77 and was reunited with the lord and her husband.

Helene was born on August 11th, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida to Helen and Vincent Cahalane. She was raised in Brookline, Massachusetts and attended Saint Mary’s High School. After graduating high school, she married Paul John Dunne of Wellesley, Massachusetts at the age of 18 and became a Navy wife. They grew their family having five children, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Helene devoted her life to raising and loving her family, friends, and neighbors as well. Throughout the years, Helene was a motherly figure to many more than just her five children. She was a devout Catholic being one of the first parishioners at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church and lived out her faith every day through her actions.

Her husband, Paul Dunne preceded her on March 24^th, 2013. Helene is survived by her siblings, her five children and their spouses (will be in parenthesis) as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was Helene’s first priority in her life. She was survived by, Christine Dunne Zucker, Robert Dunne (Kara Dunne), Karen Dunne, John Dunne (Karen Ciarletto Dunne), and Andrew Dunne (Sonya Dunne) as well as her Fifteen grandchildren and their spouses who each formed a different bond with her: Ryan and Zey Dunne, Rachel and Christopher Bow, Shane Dunne, Patrick and Heather Dunne, Ariel Zucker, Noah Zucker, Connor Dunne, Brendan Dunne, Brigid Dunne, Jessica Costa, Julia Costa, Kailey Dunne, McKayla Dunne, Declan Dunne, and MacKenzie Dunne. She also had two great grandchildren, Jaxson Dunne, and Ellowyn Bow. Helene also grew up and survived by her sisters and brothers, Jean Foster, Jane Blanchfield, Janet Richardson, Patricia Whippe, and her brothers John Cahalane (Deceased) and Vincent Cahalane. Helene will be greatly missed by all of us as she embarks on her journey back to the lord.   

Visitation will be held at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 33317 on Sunday December 13th, from 1 - 4 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 200 N University Dr, Plantation, FL 33324, Monday, December 14th at 11 AM. Burial to follow at South Florida VA National Cemetery, 1:30 PM.
