Helen Berman

Helen Ann Berman, age 95, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2026.

Helen was married to Dale J. Berman for more than 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Dale J Berman; her parents, William and Olga Diamond; her son, Dale J. Berman; her sister, Nancy Martin.

Helen is survived by her son Glenn and his wife, Mary Berman; her daughter-in-law, JoEllen Berman; her daughter Terrilee and her husband, Rick Odom; and her “adopted sons,” David Ogburn and Randy Schnee. She is also survived by seven grandchildren—Cole Berman, Stevie Redmond (Chris), Parker Odom (Krista), Andrew Berman (Jackie), Rhett Berman (Rachael), Tara Berman, and Kristen Berman. Six great-grandchildren: Aubrie Berman, Parks Odom, Palmer Redmond, Frank Berman, Lydia Odom, and Harmon Redmond.

Helen was born on August 11, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Whitney High School. In 1949 she married the love of her life and in 1960, she and Dale moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she worked in a pharmacy and enjoyed meeting the many vacationers who visited the area. Later, she worked in the office for her son as a real estate appraisal assistant. In 1996 they moved to Augusta, Georgia. She became a member of Elks lodge 205. Helen and Dale enjoyed cooking weekly dinners for large groups to raise funds for the community.

Helen enjoyed quilting and decorating for Christmas. Neighbors joked that she sometimes put up her tree as early as October. Her festive decorations and homemade cookies will be dearly missed.
