Our beloved Gina Kneski passed away after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was a beacon of light whose warmth, energy, and compassion touched countless lives. Gina was a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who made everyone around her feel seen, valued, and cared for.
After graduating from Lasell University, Gina began her career aboard the SS Emerald Seas as a cocktail waitress and purser before later serving as a nurse. Her outgoing personality, vibrant spirit, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She later devoted her life to caring for others through her work at Massachusetts General Hospital before spending many years at Coral Springs Medical Center, where she served in both the ICU and interventional radiology departments. Nursing was far more than a profession to Gina — it was truly her calling. She cared deeply for her patients, their families, and her coworkers, offering comfort, compassion, and kindness to everyone around her. During her time at Coral Springs Medical Center, she was twice honored as Nurse of the Year, a reflection of the extraordinary care and heart she brought to her work every day. Even after retirement, Gina returned to nursing because she missed the people, connection, and sense of purpose she loved so much.
Known for her incredible emphathy, kind soul, and genuine interest in others, Gina never met a stranger. Her faith in God guided her throughout her life and remained steadfast throughout her illness.
Gina loved spending time with her family, always looking forward to sister’s night on Fridays and spending time at the cabin in Tennessee, a place that brought her great peace and happiness. She also loved Christmas, decorating with beautiful ornaments and big red bows, and creating warm memories with those she loved most.
Above all else, Gina loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She brought light and joy wherever she went and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, strength, and love.
She is survived by her loving husband Peter; her children, Katie and Patti; grandchildren, Nick, Allie, and Jackson; siblings, Stephen, Maureen, Louise and Maria; nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends and colleagues who will miss her deeply.
