Gerald Rauscher, Jerry to his friends, passed away on the evening of February 10. He boards his last ship, bound for eternity. While his passing leaves a void, there is comfort in knowing he has rejoined his wife, family, and friends in the great beyond.
Jerry led a life defined by service and hard work, something he enjoyed and something he would want no other way. He was born and raised in Huntingburg, Indiana. He joined the Navy to serve his country and was able to see the world while doing so. He retired form the Navy to settle down and start a family after marrying his wife, Chris. Though he saw and lived in many places, Colorado was his favorite. In recent years, he moved to South Florida to be closer to his son, and grandson. He was dedicated to his wife and in later years became her sole caregiver.
He touched the lives of everyone around him, every single day. Whether through his work or his personal life, his immense spirit and sense of fairness, was felt by those he met. Jerry loved working with his hands and was never one for idleness; he was always on the move, usually working one of his many jobs. He was a devoted, supportive husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed immensely
He is survived by his two sons Steven and Jerel, and his grandson, Steven.
