Florence E. Donato

January 22, 1929 — October 23, 2020

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. "Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew; and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God." On Friday, October 23, 2020, Florence Esther Donato of Sunrise Florida, peacefully passed away at the age of 91. She said all she ever wanted to do in life was be a wife and a mother. Her home was filled with memories and family photo's . She loved to gather her family around the table for dinner, holidays and birthdays where she cooked and baked to everyone's delight. She was fabulous at jigsaw puzzles, word searches and a "shark" at cards! Florence invited anyone who wanted to join her to play a game of "May I" that would go on for hours. If she wasn't playing cards, Florence was at the pool with family and friends. Florence was a woman of great faith who was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise. She loved attending Mass, praying the rosary, and being part of church groups. Florence was a member of CCW Women's Guild and was a familiar face working at church events with the Seniors. Her favorite activities were, bingo, the rummage sale, and serving coffee and cake in the hospitality center. Florence found great comfort in her favorite Bible passage, Psalm 23 and she found her strength in singing hymns and worship songs. The visitation is at TM Ralph Sunrise on Wednesday, October 28th from 1-3. A Funeral Mass will be at All Saints in Sunrise on Thursday, October 29th at 11 AM.
