Eugene Frole

November 29, 1942 – September 12, 2022

In the morning of September 12, 2022, Eugene “Gene” Frole of Weston, Florida passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with COPD.  Gene was born in Butler to the late Eugene “Jan” Frole and the late Josephine Frole in 1942.  Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite “Peggy” Summerill whom he married in 1963.  He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Marsha Hunka and Brenda Edwards.  Gene is survived by his daughter, Michele Marquardt, and grandson, Hunter Marquardt, and his nieces and nephews.

Gene was a graduate of Butler High Schoon in 1961.  He enjoyed following sports and was an avid reader.  He also enjoyed traveling, going to Disney with his family, and sharing his every meal with his beloved dog Tootsie.  Gene and Peggy moved around quite a bit and settle in Massachusetts for many years, and they finally settled in South Florida where they owned and operated their family export business in Miami for over twenty years.

A private service will be held for Gene followed by him joining his beloved wife in the ashes of the wind.
