Erla Monzon, passed away at her home on February 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness. Born on April 3, 1919, in Peru, Erla's life journey of 104 years was marked by her unwavering dedication to caring for others.
Throughout her career as a nurse, Erla touched the lives of many with her healing hands and comforting presence. Her caring love will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have experienced her care and compassion. Described as helpful to all and very supportive, Erla had a heart of gold and a spirit that knew no bounds when it came to helping those in need. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer solace to anyone who crossed her path, traveling to family members side whenever she was needed.
Erla found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved parties and continued dancing until the impressive age of 98, a true testament to her vitality and zest for life. One of Erla's accomplishments was making the courageous decision to come to the United States in 1982 from Peru, embarking on a new chapter filled with opportunities to touch more lives, be near family and make a difference in the world.
Erla is survived by her loving family members: Graciela Chong (Daughter), Olga Aguirre (Daughter), Cesar Monzon (Son), 9 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on through them as they carry forward the values of love and kindness that she exemplified in her lifetime. She was predeceased by her husband in 1944, and devoted herself to her family.
The visitation will take place on February 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. A Mass in honor of Erla Monzon will be held on February 24, 2024, starting at 9:30 AM at Saint Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Plantation, FL.
