Edith Marie Ford Sephton
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Edith Marie Ford Sephton, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on July 3, 2026, at the age of 93.
Edith was born on August 1, 1932, in Bay Shore, New York, to Henry Ford and Helen Hubert Ford. She was raised in Bay Shore alongside her sister, Gloria Ford Sipp. Her father worked for the New York Daily News, and her mother was a hat and hand model in New York City as well as a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bay Shore.
From an early age, Edith enjoyed a successful career as a child model with the Ford Modeling Agency, appearing in catalogs for many of the nation's leading retailers, including FAO Schwarz, Gimbels, Macy's, and Good Housekeeping, among others.
Later, Edith worked for the Ford Motor Company, where she met the love of her life, Dan Sephton. They married and shared more than 50 wonderful years together, raising three sons and building a life centered on faith, family, and service.
After moving to Plantation, Florida, Edith became an active member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale and later St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Plantation. She was deeply involved in church life and the local community.
Following Dan's retirement, the couple worked and volunteered together for more than 20 years at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, where they enjoyed sharing their love of the arts and giving back to their community. Their time there created many lasting friendships and cherished memories. Dan preceded Edith in death in 2019.
Edith is lovingly survived by her three sons: Gary Sephton and his wife, Fabi; Kevin Sephton and his wife, Lori; and Tom Sephton. She was a proud grandmother to Jake, Kelly, Zack, and Lauren.
She is also survived by her nieces, Jackie Bruyn and Kathy Sipp Kelly; her nephew, John Sipp; her grandnieces Melanie, Melissa, Samantha, Becca, and Teresa; and her extended family in Brazil, including Rossana, Wilson, and Glacy Braga Cortes. She also leaves behind the many dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Edith will be remembered for her grace, devotion to her family, strong Catholic faith, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know her.
