It is with great sorrow that the family of Eloise Cambareri announces her passing on June 29, 2026. She is survived by her husband of nearly 75 years, Rocco Cambareri, and by her five children: Grace ‘Rav’ (Ken), Barbara (Jim), Allan, Joseph, and John ‘Jack’ (Elizabeth). She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Bonnie Cambareri, two nieces, a nephew, their children and grandchildren, and her first cousin Daniel Swenson.
Eloise grew up in Mt. Kisco, NY, where she met her husband while in the fourth grade. She was an outstanding scholar, whose extracurricular activities included multiple team sports, cheerleading, the school newspaper, Tri-Y, and the National Honor Society. While in high school, she began working part-time for the telephone company, which she continued to do until the birth of her first child.
During her 94 years, she was a loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother, and friend. She always remembered birthdays and anniversaries, and made sure that family gatherings were filled with special touches. She was the friend who reached out to meet others’ needs, and was the person who could be counted on to chaperone children’s activities, play chauffeur, and support charitable causes.
One of her greatest gifts was instilling a love of learning. Whether you were one of her children, a grandchild, or simply visiting during spring break, she believed time should be spent reading, studying, and expanding your knowledge. That quiet expectation became a lifelong habit for many of her family and helped shape generations who valued education, curiosity, and personal growth. She enjoyed playing the piano, filling the house with music and encouraging her children to learn to play musical instruments.
Above all, Eloise was a devout Catholic and long-time member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister and usher. Visitation will take place on July 12th from 4-6 p.m. at TM Ralph Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL. A funeral mass will be held on July 13th at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 200 North University Drive, Plantation, with interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Gregory Catholic Church.
