With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Debbie Connor, a woman whose life was defined by love, laughter, family, and unwavering devotion to the people she cherished most.
Deborah (Debbie) McGowan was born on April 24, 1951, in Minneapolis, the fourth and youngest child of Donald and Margaret McGowan. At the age of 12, she moved with her family to South Florida when her father began working in construction before eventually opening a slot car track on Las Olas Boulevard.
At just 20 years old, she met the love of her life, Gary Connor, beginning a partnership built on love, loyalty, and family. Together they married and raised their two children in Plantation, where she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, comfort, and unconditional love.
She lived a life rich in family, friends, travel and experiences that created a lifetime of memories for those fortunate enough to know her. Whether through her fun-loving sense of humor or the way she made everyone feel welcomed and loved, she left an unforgettable mark on every life she touched.
She will be remembered as the heart of her family; the one who brought people together, celebrated every milestone, offered comfort during difficult moments, and loved fiercely through it all.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Connor; her two children, Patrick Connor and Kelly (Connor) Frye; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Frye and her beloved grandson, Connor Frye.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26th at 1:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at the family home.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always carried in our hearts.
