Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Deacon Victor Manuel Martinez, Jr., age 64, of Plantation, FL, passed away peacefully in his home on July 3, 2026.
Deacon Victor was born on December 19, 1961, in the Bronx, New York, to Nancy E. Martinez and Victor Manuel Martinez, Sr. They moved to Pennsylvania, where he graduated from East Stroudsburg High School. Two years later, Victor met his cherished wife, Kim. Together, they built a loving family, raising three children. His professional career included time as a general manager of sales and finance for multiple car dealerships. For the last 20 years, he and his family built a successful commercial landscaping company, where he earned the nickname "God's Gardener"—a reflection of his deep faith and love of caring for God's creations. He spent many years as a parishioner and volunteer in various capacities at his parish, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, before beginning his service as a Deacon.
In addition to his family, Deacon Victor’s greatest personal accomplishment was his ordination into the Diaconate on December 16, 2023. Throughout life, Deacon Victor was known for his love and service to his family and community, his strength, and his unwavering faith in God.
Deacon Victor enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, cooking, and found great joy in serving his church community. Among his responsibilities as a deacon, his favorite was to perform baptisms, as he felt great joy in bringing souls closer to God.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Martinez, son Matthew Martinez and wife Jenny; son Victor Anthony Martinez; daughter Raquel Moon and husband Donald; his grandchildren Mason, Oliver, Benjamin and Maggie; his siblings Nancy R. Martinez and Daniel Martinez, niece Marina, nephew Devin, and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Deacon Victor’s name to the Andrea's Wish fund of Our Lady of Lourdes North American Lourdes Volunteers, as they provided Deacon Victor with the utmost care. Andrea's Wish funded Deacon Victor and Kim's pilgrimage to Lourdes, a pilgrimage he wanted to make his entire life. Through this, he was given a true miracle.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all friends, visitors and the Saint Gregory the Great community for their compassion, support and prayers during this time.
Deacon Victor will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
