Curt Mindel Orr

May 10, 1941 — January 30, 2021

This is the announcement of the passing of a Great, Great Man, Curt Mindel Orr, on January 30, 2021 at the age of 79.  The beloved son of the late Wayne and Adelle Orr. The beloved Father of Michael Wayne (Yvonne) Orr and Michelle Kathryne Orr;  dear Brother of Mary Elizabeth (Glenn) Walther and Dear Uncle and Cousin of many. Proceeded in death by his beloved Wife, Robbie

Curt touched the hearts and souls of many throughout all the chapters of his life that began on May 10, 1941, where he grew up in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.  He attended the University of Missouri, and after graduation, he met the Love of his Life Robbie Blondeau in Idaho while fighting forest fires with the U.S. Forest Service in the American Great Northwest.

Afterwards, Curt joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 to become a phenomenal Naval Aviator and Leader with Robbie performing the honor of pinning Curt’s wings following completion of flight school. Curt and Robbie soon thereafter married on April 3,1965 and together created a Family with son, Michael, daughter Michelle.

Curt and Robbie created a home in South Florida beginning in 1969 and then a second home in Kalispell, MT in 1981.  Shortly after leaving the US Navy in 1969, Curt began his second aviation career as a commercial airline pilot first with National Airlines, then Pan American Airlines and United Airline. It is from these two homes and during his career as a commercial airline pilot that Curt and his Family would create the remaining web of lifelong dear friendships in addition to those and their families he served with while in the US Navy.

It would be for the next 40 years that these many friendships would grow, flourish, and together endure many of life’s challenges. They would come to know Curt as devoting all his heart and soul to his Family, passionately committed to the art of flying, extraordinarily modest, perpetually selfless, fiercely protective, deeply caring, compassionate, and unwaveringly dependable.

Curt lost the Love of his Life on March 10, 2014 and now they are finally reunited, and his heart is whole once again.
